Teams sought for Takakuna’s long-running summer 7-a-side module

A long-running summer 7-a-side programme in Auckland is looking for more women’s and mixed teams ahead of the 2024-25 season.

The module runs on Monday nights at Takapuna’s Taharoto Park (women’s 6pm, mixed 6.40pm, men 7.20pm).

The new season gets underway on Monday October 28, 2024.

Established in 1995, Al’s 7-a-side (formerly Allan Peeperkoorn’s Becroft 7-a-side Soccer) is a family-friendly football module based at Takapuna FC that encourages competitive and fun football.

Organiser Terry Hobin says the module celebrated its 25th anniversary in the 2019/20 summer season.

“Everyone involved in the module builds on the success of the first 25 years under the late Allan Peeperkoorn’s leadership, during which time he created a welcoming environment for everyone involved,” Hobin said.

“Whether you’ve been there from day one or are looking to join us for the first time, all are welcome, and we look forward to seeing you on the fields and in the clubrooms after your game.
