WATCH: All Whites skipper Chris Wood sets new milestones with latest goal

New Zealand international striker Chris Wood has continued his in-form start to the English Premier League season, scoring for his Nottingham Forest club with a trademark header.

Wood (32) found space to powerfully meet a corner with a header that beat new Wolves ‘keeper Sam Johnstone in the 10th minute.

Forest drew the game 1-1.

The New Zealander was involved in two controversies during the match. He was ruled to be offside when he appeared to have scored the matchwinner, and Wolves claimed they should have been awarded a penalty claiming the ball struck Wood’s arm when he was defending for his team.

Wood has scored in eight consecutive EPL seasons, and his latest effort was his 71st career goal at that level.

It was his 24th headed goal, and he’s scored more with his head than any other Premier League player still active.

On the all-time list of headed goals, Wood ranks equal seventh, and one more will move him to equal fifth, behind prolific scorers Peter Couch, Harry Kane, Christian Bentenke and Olivier Giroud.

Overall, Wood is now equal 64th on the all-time EPL goalscorers’ list, with his 71 goals.

He’s one goal ahead of Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, and Manchester United legend Eric Cantona.

The EPL takes a break for the September international window and Wood is in the All Whites squad to face Mexico and the United States in California.
