A 26-player New Zealand squad has been named for the two-match U-20 women’s series against Australia in Wellington.
Of the squad, 16 play for New Zealand-based clubs, while 10 are registered with overseas clubs.
Both teams are preparing for this year’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.

New Zealand U-20 women’s head coach Leon Birnie said: “It’s excellent to confirm these matches as part of our ongoing preparations for Colombia.
“Australia should be a good test for us and it will be great for the team to be able to play in front of a home crowd, so we look forward to seeing the people of Wellington at the game.”
Thursday’s first match will have free admission for spectators at Porirua Park, Wellington, and will be streamed live and free by FIFA+.
The second match will be played behind closed doors at the NZ Campus of Innovation and Sport, Upper Hutt.
Meanwhile, the Australia squad includes a strong contingent of players from women’s A-League clubs.
