New Zealand international Chris Wood has continued his hot streak of form with another goal for Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League.
Wood (32) gave Forest a second-half lead against Chelsea who fought back for a 1-1 draw.
Forest, who were reduced to 10 players when James Ward-Prowse was sent off in the 78th minute, consolidated their midtable position with the point, after losing only once in the opening seven rounds of the EPL.
Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo praised Wood for his performance, telling Match of the Day 2: “He is giving us good results. Chris is always there to deliver and we are happy for it.”
Wood has scored four goals in seven EPL starts this season,
Wood has scored in eight consecutive EPL seasons, and his latest effort was his 72nd career goal at that level.
Overall, Wood is now equal 63rd on the all-time EPL goalscorers’ list, sharing that position with Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus.
The EPL takes a break for the September international window and Wood is in the All Whites squad to face Tahiti in the OFC World Cup qualifying series, and the international friendly against Malaysia.
