Applications open for role of director of football at Auckland’s Te Atatu club

Auckland’s Te Atatū club are seeking a director of football.

In their call for applications, Te Atatū says the role will develop and implement football strategies across all levels of the club.

“As the director of football, you will work closely with the club’s management team to provide knowledge and expertise for building and managing a structured setup for football across the club, at both community and competitive levels,” the club says.

“Your leadership will ensure a cohesive playing style across all teams, nurturing talent, and driving our teams to success on and off the field.”

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement football strategies across all levels of the club.
  • Oversee coaching programs and mentor coaching staff.
  • Ensure a pathway for player development, from grassroots to senior teams.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and respect.

What the club is looking for

  • Proven experience in football coaching or football development.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to inspire players and coaches alike.
  • A passion for the game and a commitment to community football.
  • Minimum C Licence or equivalent coaching accreditation

Hours of work

Initially, the role is 20 hours a week with evening and weekend flexibility required around football.

More hours are possible but are dependent on funding.
