New Zealand international Maggie Jenkins joins Turkish club on pro’ contract

New Zealand international Maggie Jenkins has signed a professional contract with Turkish Women’s Super League club Gaziantep Alg Spor.

Jenkins (23) has joined the club from the University of Central Florida where she was on a full scholarship, and recently graduated.

Gaziantep Alg Spor is one of the founding clubs of the top-tier Turkish competition.

Jenkins, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a forward, has earned one cap for the Football Ferns, and has represented New Zealand at U-17 and U-20 level.

She was a member of the New Zealand team that won a bronze medal at the 2018 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Uruguay.

She played her youth football for Wellington United, moving north in 2018 to join Glenfield Rovers and playing women’s National League for the Northern Lights.
