Scottish club Arbroath sign Brynn Sinclair from Central League’s Petone

Scottish League One club Arbroath have signed defender Brynn Sinclair from New Zealand.

Sinclair (22) joins Arbroath on a one-year contract from Central League club Petone.

After starting his football career with Dunedin’s Green Island, Sinclair played for Southern United before heading to Auckland for spells with Northern League clubs Birkenhead United and North Shore United.

Announcing his signing, Arbroath said: “Brynn made the move to Scotland recently and was keen to find a club where he could settle and work hard to gain experience and make an impact on the side.”

Sinclair said: “I moved across here from New Zealand recently and did plenty of research into the clubs that are out there and Arbroath were one that everyone spoke very highly of.

“I was really impressed with the people in the club that I’ve met so far and they all have the common goal and desire to work hard and fight to get up the table.

“The managers have been great through the process of signing and were really clear on what they expect from me and the team which I really liked as it gives me a personal goal to achieve as well as the wider team goals”.

Arbroath are currently bottom of the Scottish League One, the third-tier of competition (below the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Championship).
