New Zealand international midfielder Clayton Lewis has made another appearance in Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court in relation to an alleged bet-fixing scheme.

The court was told police had served Lewis (27) with 2500 pages of evidence, as he faced charges of corrupting betting outcomes and that he took part in a criminal group.

Lewis’ lawyer Zemaral Khatiz has previously said Lewis would fight the allegations, and the former Wellington Phoenix player would next appear in court on Thursday September 12, 2024.

Lewis was one of three Macarthur FC players facing charges after police allegations they took part in a plan to manipulate the number of yellow cards issued during A-League games on November 24 and December 9, 2023.

The other players, Ulises Davila and Kearyn Baccus, also appeared in the Downing Centre Local Court and were remained till October 17, 2024.

Davila and Baccus have both left Macarthur since the charges were laid but Lewis remains under contract at the club.
