Auckland City plan 20th anniversary celebration on Chatham Cup semi-final day

Members of Auckland City will celebrate the club’s 20th anniversary when they gather for Sunday’s Chatham Cup semi-final against Birkenhead United.

Formed in 2004 to compete in the New Zealand Football Championship, the club invites supporters and friends to their Kiwitea St clubrooms from 12.30pm, ahead of kick-off at 2pm.

Past and present players and coaches will attend the celebration, including the club’s first-ever head coach, Allan Jones.

The club says it also plans to host a few surprise guests “to reminisce about our journey so far and look forward to our future.”
