New Zealand international Sarpreet Singh is reportedly attracting interest from rival English Championship clubs Queens Park Rangers and Oxford United.

Singh (25) is a free agent after being released by German club Hansa Rostock after their relegation to Bundesliga 3.

The Football Insider site says QPR “are intent on bolstering their faltering forward line ahead of next season.”

Oxford United, whose head coach Des Buckingham worked with Singh when they were both at the Wellington Phoenix, is also reported to be interested in signing the All White.

Oxford will play in the Championship after winning promotion from League One through the play-offs.

Singh joined German giants Bayern Munich after standout performances for New Zealand at the 2019 FIFA U-20 Men’s World Cup.

Singh scored seven goals in 22 appearances for Bayern Munich’s reserves but struggled to get into their first team.

After a long battle to regain fitness after a groin injury, Auckland-born Singh was hoping to reboot his career in Germany by joining Hansa from Bayern Munich.

However, he struggled for game time and ended the 2023-24 season prematurely with a red card and suspension, after scoring against FC Schalke on May 11, 2024.

Singh was not included in the 21-player New Zealand squad selected for the OFC Nations Cup but has been named in the OlyWhites squad for the Paris Olympics, as one of three overage players.
