Phoenix and Auckland FC to play double header in A-League’s Unite Round

New Zealand’s rival A-League clubs will play an historic double header when their men’s teams play in the Sydney-based Unite Round.

Twelve men’s and women’s A-League matches will be played at two Sydney stadiums over the weekend of November 22-24, 2024.

The Phoenix women will play Adelaide United at Leichhardt Oval on the Friday early evening.

On Sunday November 24, at the Allianz Stadium, the Phoenix will play Melbourne Victory, and the match will be followed by a fixture between Macarthur and Auckland FC.

The round gives supporters of the New Zealand clubs chance to watch both teams on one match ticket.

Announcing the Unite Round, the Australian Professional Leagues (APL) has moved it earlier in the year for the 2024-25 season.

For the first time, all full-season club members will be able to access complimentary tickets to Unite Round.

Tickets are set to go on sale in August, with details on what and how each home and away club member can access tickets to be released soon.

A-Leagues Commissioner Nick Garcia said: “We’ve taken on board feedback from fans, clubs and partners and have made a few changes to make Unite Round 2024/25 bigger and better.

“We’ve ensured clubs’ men’s and women’s teams play on different days to make it easier for fans to attend both matches of their favourite clubs, while a longer lead time will give fans more opportunity to plan their travel to Sydney.

“We’re currently busy working through details of the supporting events and grassroots activities to add to the overall fan experience, as well as working with clubs on special ticket deals for club members.

“We’ll be announcing these in collaboration with clubs, including dates for tickets on sale, in the coming weeks.”

Wellington Phoenix say their members will be contacted directly regarding ticketing details for the Unite Round.
