Underdogs Franklin United to face holders in Kate Sheppard Cup quarter-finals

Franklin United will host holders Western Springs in the quarter-finals of this year’s Kate Sheppard Cup.

United, who play in the Lotto NRFL Women’s Championship, are the lowest-ranked club left in the competition and they’ll get the chance to cause the upset of the year when they meet Springs.

In other ties, Lotto NRFL Women’s Premiership title rivals Auckland United and West Coast Rangers will go head to head, while South Island Women’s League rivals Dunedin City Royals and Cashmere Technical will meet.

The Wellington Phoenix, playing in the cup for the first time, will play Waterside Karori away.
