Chatham Cup lines up juicy ties as competition comes down to last 16 clubs

posted in: Chatham Cup, Events, News

Auckland City will travel to Cambridge for their fourth round tie in this year’s Chatham Cup.

The home tie for Lotto NRFL Southern Conference leaders Cambridge is their reward for upsetting Northern League side Bay Olympic in the third round.

The cup tie against Auckland City represents the furthest the club has reached in the Chatham Cup in its 76-year history.

Other clubs looking to punch above their weight are Lotto NRFL Men’s Championship sides Hibiscus Coast and Onehunga Mangere United, who have both draw away to Northern League opponents.

Otago University, the lowest ranked club left in the cup’s South Island survivors, will host Dunedin City Royals.

The Central region will see two ties pitting Central League clubs against each other.
