New Zealand referees Antony Riley and Chris Sinclair have been gaining international experience by officiating in Argentina’s Futsal National Championship.
The experienced OFC officials were invited by the AFA after impressing during April’s OFC Futsal Men’s Champions League, where two Argentine referees officiated.
Riley and Sinclair hope to be selected to officiate at the 2024 FIFA Men’s Futsal World Cup in Uzbekistan in September-October.

“This opportunity to referee matches in the Argentina Futsal Primera division is excellent preparation for Chris and me ahead of potential selection to officiate at the World Cup,” Riley told OFC Media.
“Officiating competitive matches with unfamiliar players, teams and stadiums enables each of us to remain at the top of our game and we greatly appreciate the support of Argentina Football Association, New Zealand Football and Oceania Football Confederation for enabling this to happen.”
