Baradene College finish 11th at secondary schools world cup in China

Auckland’s Baradene College have finished 11th in the girls’ section of the ISF World Cup in China.

They lost their final game at the international secondary schools tournament in a penalty shootout with Nigeria after the sides were locked 2-2 at the final whistle.

Representing New Zealand at the tournament, Baradene beat Morocco 2-1 and Bangladesh 3-0 in their group, after losing 6-0 to a strong China/3 team in their opener.

In their first play-off match, the Aucklanders lost 6-0 to 2023 champions China/1.

Ukraine won the next play-off 4-0 against Baradene before the tournament wrapped up with the match against Nigeria.
