First-half goals have given Ellerslie their first win of the Lotto NRFL Women’s Premiership season, with the Ponies landing a 2-1 victory against Eastern Suburbs.
The win at Madills Farm lifted Ellerslie into sixth place on the table, while the result hindered the Lilywhites’ efforts to catch unbeaten leading pair West Coast Rangers and Auckland United.
Rangers and Auckland United meet on Saturday.
