PREVIEW: Albert Riera set to reach milestone in Auckland City’s midweek match

posted in: News, Northern League

Head coach Albert Reira will lead his Auckland City side for his 100th game in charge when the Navy Blues host Bay Olympic in a midweek Northern League game.

The clubs meet under the floodlights at the Croatian Cultural Club on Wednesday, having agreed to bring forward their Round 9 fixture to alleviate Auckland City’s schedule in May when they participate at the OFC Champions League tournament in Tahiti.

City go into the fixture with a 100% winning start to their season, with they and Western Springs putting a five-point break on the chasing pack.

After playing 143 games for Auckland City, Riera has been head coach for three seasons, winning 78 games and drawing 11 from his 99 in charge. He has helped the club win seven trophies.
